ENERGY EFFICIENCY

CHALLENGE

The Ukrainian construction standards are being harmonized with the EU ones. The heat transfer resistance coefficient requirements have become more stringent in Ukraine, coming close to the European level. The best-selling items from our product range currently meet only minimally acceptable standards. If the requirements keep rising, the current 70-mm systems won’t be able to keep up with demand.

SOLUTION

The WDS 76 systems can bring thermal transmittance to 0.83 W/m²K, which is 20% above the 70-mm systems’ average.

LARGE-AREA GLAZING

CHALLENGE

Demand for full, floor-to-ceiling glazing is on the rise. The glazing area thus increases, as well as the glazing units’ weight, toughening the requirements for the static performance of profile reinforcement.

SOLUTION

The WDS 76 system profiles have larger reinforcement chambers, enabling the installation of a more rigid reinforcement to enhance the structures’ static performance by 30–55% at the same reinforcement cost.

SOUNDPROOFING,
SECURITY, AESTHETICS

CHALLENGE

The 70-mm systems have a maximum glazing unit thickness of 40 mm. However, 48-mm glazing units are much more practical to ensure adequate energy efficiency, reliable soundproofing, durability, and no lens effect on glass.

SOLUTION

WDS 76 systems are compatible with 48 mm glazing units to provide:

  • • Appropriate heat insulation (larger chambers for inert gas)
  • • High degree of soundproofing with Triplex glass (6–8 mm) on one or both sides (Rw of up to 51 dB)
  • • Security with tempered Triplex glass (6–8 mm) on one or both sides
  • • Attractive look with architectural glass (6–8 mm) preventing the lens effect

The latest industry legislation obliges window manufacturers to declare their products’ essential characteristics, including:

A smaller connection size between the frame and the sash allows for a larger glazing unit surface area to let more light in
